Walk & Talk Therapy in
South West London
Locations include Barnes and Putney riversides, Putney Heath, Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park — peaceful, spacious environments ideal for outdoor counselling.
Walk & Talk therapy is a form of counselling that takes place outdoors, combining the benefits of talking therapy with the natural grounding effect of being in green, open spaces. Many people find that walking side‑by‑side makes it easier to talk openly, reduces the intensity of eye contact, and helps them feel more relaxed and connected to their thoughts.
Being outdoors can support emotional regulation, reduce stress and anxiety, and help you feel more open to new ideas and perspectives. The gentle physical movement can also create a sense of momentum - helping you think differently about situations that previously felt stuck or overwhelming.

How Walk & Talk works in practice
Before starting Walk & Talk sessions, we’ll have at least one online session to discuss your needs, preferences and any practical considerations. Walk & Talk can then become a regular part of our work together or be arranged as needed.
We typically meet at the same time and place each week. Before your first session, we’ll agree on the pace and type of route that suits you best. During the session, you can choose to walk throughout or pause to sit at suitable resting points.
As with any counselling session, I provide a safe, confidential and non‑judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences — simply in a different setting.
Weather, safety & accessibility
Walk & Talk sessions can take place in most weather conditions, depending on safety and comfort. I’ll let you know what to wear or bring based on the forecast and walking conditions.
All routes are risk‑assessed in advance and I take into account any medical or accessibility needs you share with me. Sessions take place in public spaces and I aim to choose quieter routes to support privacy and ease of conversation.
